The real estate market practically does not pay taxes, and therefore the principles of taxation of real estate must be changed, Finance Minister Sergei Marchenko is convinced. According to the minister, tax payments should be tied to the cost of housing, not the area. This principle is set out in the bill №4101, which is now being considered in the Verkhovna Rada. If adopted, the tax rate will be 0.2% of the appraised value of residential and 0.3% of non-residential real estate per square meter. At the same time, the minimum taxation area will be canceled.
